Cabaret and Compering
As an MC, Steve is both friendly and amenable, with a welcoming and enthusiastic manner. He works hard to create a warm and friendly space for performers to enter into and brings a range of quality acts to events. His routines as a host can include all of the following.
The Balloonatic
The man inside the Balloon - quite possibly the silliest thing you’ll ever see. The Balloonatic climbs inside a 6ft latex balloon and delivers an original comedy routine that has left a wake of belly laughs across the globe – you’ll never see a balloon dog like this again! Suits stage, street and floor.
Toothbrush Man
Meet Dental Dan, Australia’s most famous unknown Bacteria Hunter! Armed with some toothbrushes and a really big imagination – Dan’s quest is to hunt down bacteria – both physical and metaphorical. A farcical festival–oriented act – Toothbrush Man is theatre of smiles! Featuring the world’s most original and finest toothbrush manipulation routine.
Steve Mischief’s Bed of Nails
With Steve Mischief, be entertained with busker-style ‘danger/comedy’ routines. Combining new circus and sideshow with feel–good antics and good humour, Steve Mischief’s Bed of Nails routine incorporates volunteer involvement with this staple of strong-man sideshow.
Steve Mischief’s Fire Arts
With 10 years of fire performance history, Steve Mischief delivers a wide range of fire-manipulation skills such as fire-handling, poi, staff and multi-staff, as well as a few pyrotechnic implements that you don’t see everyday – fire-whips, bungee staff and even flaming tent-pegs!
Street Theatre Shows
The most accessible form of live entertainment, street theatre provides an interactive experience and is a powerful medium for social development. Steve has several solo shows for street settings – The Steve Mischief Street Show, Toothbrush Man and The Balloonatic.
Walkabout Entertainment
Entertainment at its most interactive, walkabout theatre connects artist and audience without barriers. Specialist in the improvised and impromptu, Steve performs a range of characters, including stilts.
The Balloonatic
Available as a roaming duo ‘Bounceabout’ – The Balloonatic and his minder leave jaws agog as they roam through festivals, venues or parties. Was that a person inside a big bouncy ball, or was I just seeing things?
